Jharkhand opportunity for harnessing rural growth

2018, we started another collaborative project with Jharkhand Opportunities for Harnessing Growth, JOHAR, (World Bank funded Livelihood programme) to scale up community irrigation project in 16 blocks in 5 districts of East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Saraikela Kharsawan, Bokaro and Dhanbad.

TRIF has been retained as Technical Support Agency (TSA) through tendering process as per World Bank Procurement norms to provide technical assistance in 18 blocks in 5 districts. In total 1247 schemes is to be commissioned in three years benefitting 15,000 small and marginal farmers.

The specific tasks of JOHAR project are;

  • 1. TRIF is member of Technical Appraisal Committee
  • 2. Collaborate with JOHAR Irrigation Team to design and estimation of irrigation models
  • 3. Develop web based application to prepare detailed project report
  • 4. Train TSRD staff in irrigation technicalities
  • 5. Scrutinise irrigation schemes and DPR preparation
  • 6. Facilitate community interface in scheme implementation
